Kontabler is cloud accounting software built specifically for Philippine businesses and the accountants who serve them. It brings sales invoicing, double-entry books, VAT and percentage tax, BIR forms, financial statements, and payroll into one place — so you can run your business, hindi ang spreadsheets.
Why we built Kontabler
Most small businesses in the Philippines still run their books on notebooks, Excel files, and a separate bookkeeper's ledger that only gets reconciled at filing time. The result is predictable: mismatched numbers, missed BIR deadlines, and a scramble every quarter. We think keeping compliant books should be something the software handles for you — quietly, in the background, as you record everyday sales and expenses.
Kontabler keeps your transactions and your books in sync automatically. Record a sale or an expense and it posts to the Cash Receipts Journal, Cash Disbursements Journal, and General Ledger for you — then rolls up into your VAT or percentage tax return, your withholding forms, and your financial statements when you need to file.
Where Kontabler came from
Kontabler is accounting and compliance software built for Philippine businesses. The hardest parts of running a business here — keeping proper books of accounts, computing VAT and withholding tax, producing BIR- and SEC-ready financial statements, and running payroll — are the same for every Philippine business. So we built one system that handles all of it, end to end. That is Kontabler.
What’s in a name
The name comes from “kontabilidad” — the Filipino word for accounting (from the Spanish contabilidad), the same root behind kontador, the accountant who keeps the books. We wanted a name that sounds unmistakably like what the software is for: keeping your kontabilidad clean, compliant, and in one place. Kontabler is that idea, made into a tool.
What Kontabler does
From your first official receipt to your annual income tax return, Kontabler covers the accounting workflow a Philippine business actually lives with: invoicing and receivables, bills and payables, double-entry books, VAT and BIR forms (2550Q, 2551Q, 0619-E, 1601-EQ, 2307, 1701/1702), financial statements including a PFRS-compliant AFS you can submit to the BIR and SEC, and full payroll with payslips that post straight to your books.
Built for BIR and SEC compliance
Everything in Kontabler is designed around how Philippine businesses are actually examined — proper books of accounts, a compliance calendar keyed to your registered tax types, and reports formatted the way the BIR and SEC expect. Our goal is simple: when a deadline comes, the return is already computed and the numbers already tie out.
